Luvvie Ajayi – Keynote Speaker at 18NTC
Known for its vibrant food, culture, atmosphere, and people, New Orleans is an amazing destination spot this time of year. But this April, New Orleans will be at the center of the nonprofit technology world by hosting the 2018 Nonprofit Technology Conference. Presented by NTEN, the Nonprofit Technology Network, 18NTC is continuing a tradition of building a supportive, lively community of “nonprofit techies” that support each other, refer each other and build each other up. And this year, the NTC Conference promises to be even more engaging with a keynote speaker Luvvie Ajayi.
Founder of the widely popular blog Awesomely Techie and billed as a sought-after digital strategist, public speaker and New York Times Bestselling Author that sits at the intersection of comedy, technology and activism, Ajayi’s success is founded on her straightforward, no-nonsense advice on for anyone that wants to start a business, build a brand, or just make headway in their career.
But what makes Ajayi one of the best choices for speaking at 18NTC is her role as founder of the Red Pump Project, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls. The Red Pump Project has been featured in media outlets such as the Huffington Post, the Chicago Sun-Times and EBONY magazine, and has even received accolades from the Chicago City Council and the U.S. House of Representatives.
“How I choose to effect change is by speaking up, by being the first, and by being the domino,” says Ajayi in her November 2017 TED Talk in, where else, New Orleans. In this talk that has been viewed on YouTube nearly 500,000 times, Ajayi details her early days, her journey to becoming a writer, and why she feels it necessary to get “comfortable with being uncomfortable.”
In this way, Ajayi is sure to challenge attendees of 18NTC to embrace a chaotic and changing world where monetary support may not be as stable as it once was and technology is changing the way they raise money, connect with donors and supporters, and brand themselves.
Giveffect is proud to be a sponsor of 18NTC in New Orleans and will have representatives from its Atlanta office in attendance for all three days of education, information, advances in technology and building bridges.
