Innovation Hub--To teach coding and computer programming

About This Campaign

PEACH is a community service organization that serves racialized and marginalized youth. It is the only program in the Jane Finch area providing an opportunity for the local youth to experience the learning of science, technology, engineering, and a broad range of rigorous disciplines that are outside their marginalized environment. The overall objective is to give the Jane Finch community youth a chance to engage with technology and raise an awareness of post-secondary and employment opportunities in such disciplines. Through the Innovation Hub and a partnership with York University we will be providing instruction on coding & computer programming. Curriculum will include an introduction and application to coding languages and Arduino. We are in need of 20 laptops so that we can meet the scale of our growing demand.

Campaign to Support Sky's the Limit Youth Organization

"I want to say thanks for giving me hope. This laptop has giving me a wide variety of chances in life. Now I can use it to help other people in my community that don't have a computer".

Sky's the Limit Youth Organization provides refurbished laptops to youth in need across Canada. The above testimonial from one of our 3,800 recipients captures the essence of our work; the laptops that we provide represent more than just a piece of technology. Access to a computer and the Internet helps youth achieve their educational, career, and personal goals. We provide hope and opportunity to our youth recipients.

We do this by:

  • Targeting youth at risk
  • Focusing on laptops (vs. desktops)
  • Ensuring recipients participate in a training program
Our vision is that every youth in Canada who needs a computer has one!

Sky's the Limit provides services to all under-resources youth regardless of race, gender, religious belief, ability or sexual orientation.

Environmental Impact: Our program ensures that computers and their parts are reused and/or recycled so that they do not end up in landfill sites.
