PETER'S IRONMAN FOR HOPE
About This Campaign
I’m Peter Kolisnyk. I live in Oakville, Ontario with my wife Joette, my 4 children Alex, Sarah, Sydney, and Samantha, and our 2 Chihuahuas, Roxy and Maximus. For many years completing an Ironman has been on my bucket list, but life just never allowed me the time to make the necessary commitments until now.
Completing an Ironman has always appealed to me because it forces you to take a deep hard look into your soul and explore your limits both mentally, and physically. And as much as this journey is selfish, it has taken on new meaning for me as a result of my charity work in our community.
After many years in a career that called for extensive travel all over the globe, I now find myself finally working where I live. Oakville is a beautiful place to live with a high degree of financial affluence, but there still exists an ever growing percentage of those less fortunate. As a volunteer for Home Suite Hope, I have come to meet some amazing people who are doing incredible work in our community to help break the cycle of poverty for homeless single parent families. As a volunteer, I decided to dedicate my Ironman experience to support homeless women and children who are helped by this amazing organization.
My goal is to raise $50,000. 90% for Home Suite Hope – essentially enough to house and support 1 family of 4 for an entire year. The symbol of my journey is “small incremental changes everyday”, as I committed the daily regimen to prepare myself for Ironman Muskoka.
For this tremendous challenge, I ask you for 2 things;
1. For your financial support in whatever amount so our families can make the small incremental changes in their lives to fully break the cycle of poverty. 2. To tell all of your friends and family, so together, a little can mean a lot.
