2016 Tour de Habitat

2016 Tour de Habitat

About This Campaign

Our Tour de Habitat event is an indoor bike race with teams of six cyclists, each raising funds and awareness for the need of safe, affordable housing in our community.

Participants will be set up with a personalized fundraising webpage that they can share with friends, family, their employer or co-workers and ask for their financial support. Then on March 5th, team members will ride for 10 minutes each on a stationary bike. Teams are encouraged to pick a theme and dress-up and decorate their bike accordingly. Ride at a leisurely pace or complete with other teams, it's up to you!

All registered, fundraising participants will receive a free t-shirt in addition to being entered into a drawing for many great prizes! Prizes will be given to the top fundraiser, top fundraising team, most miles ridden by an individual and team and most team spirit!

Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity

Campaign to Support Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity

Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity (LAHFH) is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. LAHFH is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decent communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. We partner with local businesses, churches and volunteers to help build homes with qualifying families. Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Most importantly, partner families play a large role in the building of the home. They invest 250 hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. They also make interest-free mortgage payments which go into a fund that is used to build more houses.

Thank you for your interest in the 13th Annual Tour de Habitat!

The Tour is an easy, fun and inspiring fundraiser for Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity. It's easy...form a team, ask your friends, family and co-workers for their support, and join your team on the 5th of March for a short, stationary bike "race". Each member will ride for 10 minutes. You can ride hard or take it easy, it's up to you if you want to be competitive...the real winners are the families that you'll help. The proceeds will help build homes for local families in need of decent housing.

We encourage your team to challenge another team to see who can raise the most money. Challenges between groups (Church, service group, another department or location, or even a business competitor or ally) work great and get the competitive juices flowing.

Gather your friends or co-workers and form a team today! Team space is limited so sign up today!
