National Mentoring Month 2016

National Mentoring Month 2016

About This Campaign

BBSVC is looking forward to celebrating National Mentoring Month for January 2016. The National Mentoring Month campaign will acknowledge our ‘Bigs’- adult mentors - and the positive impact they make in the lives of their ‘Littles’ - at-risk youth served in the BBSVC programs.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County

Campaign to Support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County serves children 6 - 18 from single parent, foster, kinship, group and other non traditional homes with carefully screened and trained mentors to help them stay in school, off drugs, out of gangs and point them on a positive path to becoming productive adults in our community. By putting a caring volunteer into the life of a child we help them care about themselves and their future. Each match between a child and their mentor has clearly defined and measurable goals and objectives based on input provided by the child, parent/legal guardian and the volunteer. Professional staff help each match achieve their goals by providing insights, referrals when needed, and guidance for the entire length of the match. Although we ask for a one year commitment from the volunteers, many last a lifetime.
