AVSI Canada is working together with AVSI in Haiti to build an Educational Center in one of Port-au-Prince’s most vulnerable neighborhoods, Martissant. “Jaden Lespwa” in Creole translates to “Garden of Hope” and will become the first Educational Center in the community dedicated to the development of the person with the mandate of providing free social services to the residents of Martissant.
Jaden Lespwa will become a reference center and main community green space which will provide socio-educational services, educational activities, psychosocial support, a nutritional reference center and income generating craft workshops for vulnerable children, young people and their parents. Additionally, It will provide free access to fresh water to the neighboring school and to the community at large.
Rehabilitation of the site and building is underway. Please help us in this last leg of fundraising to finish the work!
