Build the Fun Palace
Help Small Wooden Shoe build the Fun Palace Listen to the pitch on Soundcloud (it is a radio show after all) Believe good ideas are entertaining? We do too. Your support means the world, and encourages us to keep making shows that insist that pleasure and critique require each other and that complexity and a good night out go hand in hand. The goal: 100 supporters for Small Wooden Shoe by the end of the year. Because people count even more than money. Your contribution: Be counted towards the hundred $5, $10, $20, $1,000 - however much you can do. If you like what we do
This year: Difficult Plays and Simple Songs, teaching workshops, the Unconference at the AGO, launching the Fun Palace, the 3penny Christmas Concert
And want us to continue
Next year: Fun Palace at Rhubarb and beyond, more workshops, Sedition at Encuentro 2014 in Montreal and launching the outdoor Summer Spectacular at the Toronto Fringe.)

The Fun Palace Radio Variety Show is a series of live-to-tape podcast variety shows, hosted by Jacob Zimmer with the Fun Palace Players and lots of special guests.

We are raising the money to own the means of production!

Owning the means of production (in this case microphones and recording gear) means that the money we make can be distributed to the people doing the labour. AND YOU CAN HELP US OWN IT! (Yes, Marxists can have sponsors too.) Owning the means of production for the Fun Palace will help us to these crucial things: - Pay artists. - Create and rehearse anytime with microphones - Perform whenever and where ever we wish to on a drop of a dime. - Create more podcasts. - Host workshops with the mics and gear to teach people how to make their own idiosyncratic performance podcasts… …because we believe that good ideas are entertaining. And that pleasure and critique require each other. In addition to our thanks, you will receive a charitable receipt for your taxes. If you’d like your name carved on a microphone, you can - for the cost of the mic* we will forever call the mic after your first name, or the first name of someone in your life.

Small Wooden Shoe Planning and Performance
In Support of Small Wooden Shoe Planning and Performance
Small Wooden Shoe is a (mostly) theatre company that swings between the intimate and the epic to create great nights out. We believe theatre is a useful tool to think-through, feel-out and change-up important social, historical, political and other everyday issues. Small Wooden Shoe is named after the tools French workers would use to jam the machinery when on strike. Their “sabot” – small wooden shoes – gave English the word “sabotage.” Like them, we want to disrupt the machinery of "business as usual" in hopes for a better world. Founded in 2001 by Jacob Zimmer in Halifax and now based in Toronto.
