USC Master of Social Work Cohort 2017: "Veteran Suicide Prevention Charity Run"

About This Campaign

Each day, approximately 22 veterans commit suicide at the rate of almost one per hour. Sadly, compared to civilians, veterans are 2-3 times more likely to take their own lives. These men and women have fought courageously for our freedom, only to return home and find themselves struggling with physical injury, mental illness, post-traumatic stress disorder and homelessness. To help combat this devastating epidemic, Stop Solider Suicide is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting transitioning military personnel reintegrate into civilian life. Stop Soldier Suicide provides case management services to empower and heal veterans through personal growth and achieve the quality of life they deserve!

On Saturday, September 10, 2016 ("World Suicide Prevention Day"), the University of Southern California’s San Diego Academic Center 2017 Master of Social Work Cohort will be hosting a “Veteran Suicide Prevention Charity Treadmill Run” to honor those veterans who have taken their own lives and raise money and awareness to reduce the number lost from 22 to 0!

As veterans and future social workers of the University of Southern California, we are extremely passionate about this cause and greatly appreciate your support in donating to and/or volunteering with our campaign!

Let’s do our part to end veteran suicides and help Stop Soldier Suicide GO OUT OF BUSINESS!

Recommended personal donation: $22.00

Thank you in advance for your generous donations and contributions!

Stop Soldier Suicide

Campaign to Support Stop Soldier Suicide

Help us end Veteran suicide.

Stop Soldier Suicide is the first national Veteran-founded and led non-profit relentlessly dedicated to the epidemic of - and cure for - suicide among Service Members.

We understand the problems and issues of Military suicide are too complex for a single answer. Our skilled Case Managers find the right solution for each person.

And it's not a single conversation. We follow up over a two year period help as long as is needed.

Our evidenced-based approach makes us truly unique.

And our mission is simple:

We offer empowerment to those who have served and are serving still.
