Light the Way - Walk for Independence
Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind's (CLB) 6th Annual Light the Way - Walk for Independence encourages people of all ages, particularly people who are blind or visually impaired, to maintain active and productive lifestyles. Coinciding with National Disability Employment Awareness Month, this year’s Light the Way fundraising event will provide participants with a morning of fun-filled exercise, camaraderie and entertainment. Join CLB and walk the scenic, historic, and accessible route between the US Capitol and the Washington Monument. Interested participants will also have the opportunity to guide walkers who are blind or visually impaired. Leading this guiding experience will be CLB’s ambassador, triathlete Charlie Plaskon, who is visually impaired.

Support CLB by participating in the 6th Annual Light the Way – Walk for Independence. Proceeds from this year’s Light the Way fundraising event will help CLB to remain a strong community resource for residents in the Washington metropolitan area for years to come.

Once you register, be sure to hit the blue "Share" button on the upper right-hand corner of your personal fundraising page. Use this sharing option as an easy way to spread the word about your participation in this year's Light the Way - Walk for Independence!

Have you ever contemplated what it would be like to be blind? And if you were blind, what would you give to gain back your sight? You'd give anything. Team Burleson invites you to give anything, to help those in our area dealing with challenges of sight impairment. They may have lost their sight, but with our help, they have so much left to gain.

The Shifty Shades are cooler than sunglasses and gearin' up for a heck of a ride (or walk) for helping the Blind. We enjoy bringing awareness to our community about blindness with fun, and we support organizations like Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind who help manage programs that support the Blind. Help us help them!
