About This Campaign

Welcome to our new Bowl For Kids' Sake website! Because of Bowl For Kids' Sake, more Bigs and Littles can be paired up, more friendships can be created, and improved outlooks on life can be started.

Let's set you up for success!
  1. Create a team by choosing "Register" or scroll down to select the team you would like to join. 
  2. Sharing is caring -- in the top right corner of the fundraising page, you will see a "Share" button. Select this button to share your fundraising page via e-mail or social media.
  3. Succeed! -- Raise $400 per team (for a team of up to five individuals) and have a blast bowling on March 11th.

    New in 2017...fundraising incentives! Each team that raises over $1,600 will be entered into a drawing to win five (5) tickets to the UofM v OSU football game on November 25th. Each individual who raises over $500 will be entered into a drawing to win a 50" Samsung Smart TV, courtesy of Big George's Home Appliance Mart in Ann Arbor. Start your fundraising engines!

Bowl for Kids' Sake 2017 will take place at the new REVEL AND ROLL (1950 S. Industrial, Ann Arbor) on SATURDAY, MARCH 11TH from 11:30AM-6PM. Bowling will occur within 2-hour intervals during this time frame -- we will reach out to our teams as the event draws closer to gauge preference in bowling time slots.

  • 1:45PM-3:45PM
  • 4PM-6PM

What's included for my bowling team?
The celebratory day of bowling will include shoes, a silent auction, raffle, and Big/Little MCs, and prime viewing of all the basketball games the day will have to offer. Food and drink are not included in the bowling price, but Revel and Roll will have a full restaurant and bar to cater to your every desire. There will even be a friendly and helpful server assigned to your lane so that you don't have to leave your fun-filled game for a snack!

What does Big Brothers Big Sisters Do?

As the nation's largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers ('Bigs') and children ('Littles'), ages 7 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. Professionally trained Big Brothers Big Sisters staff members work with our partners in the education and juvenile justice communities to find children facing adversity and assess how our programs can have the greatest impact. Big Brothers Big Sisters targets the children who need us most, including those living in single parent homes, growing up in poverty and coping with parental incarceration.


How does bowling help Big Brothers Big Sisters?

When you participate in Bowl for Kids' Sake, you have the power to change lives for the better, forever. We depend on the money raised from Bowl for Kids' Sake to carry out the work of carefully matching children with caring adult mentors and providing ongoing support to the child, volunteer mentor and child's family. Today you can Register or Donate to our efforts to change the life of a child forever!


How a Big becomes a Big—and a Little, a Little.

Before we make a match, we do our homework. After someone expresses an interest in becoming a Big, they go through a background check and careful interview process. Then we match Bigs and Littles based on location, personalities and preferences. And we provide full support from the start, so matches can grow into lasting, impactful friendships. The entire matching process is made possible through donations—we can't do what we do best without them!

What are a Big and Little to do?

Each match is unique. Getting together doesn't require a special occasion or expensive activity—just a few hours every month doing things the Little and Big already enjoy. For example:

  • Playing catch
  • Reading books
  • Going to a museum
  • Providing advice and inspiration

Some Bigs meet their Littles on the weekends. Others get together with their Littles in the evenings. Each match develops a schedule that works for them.

Sometimes the best place for enjoying activities together is at the child's school. And, the best part is, it can be a great learning experience, in or out of the classroom.
