Holiday Mommy Spa 2016

About This Campaign

This holiday season join us in celebrating single mothers in East Palo Alto. Our hope is to give these mothers a chance to take a break from taking care of their family and daily struggles, relax, recharge and celebrate the holiday season. Together with EPAMade, we are planning a couple of hours of pampering and festivities where they can experience some respite and refreshments. We will have various stations where they can choose to get a massage, facial, decorate cookies, write a holiday card and enjoy a great meal. There will be a children's corner where volunteers will engage the children with crafts and other activities. There will be a gift table where kids can choose a book, stuffed animals or pajamas to take home. We are partnering with the Shoebox project to provide gifts for the mothers as well.

How do we make this happen? This is where you, volunteers could come to help and show them that you care. Please make a monetary donation to cover food, flowers and gifts for the event. You can also sign up to volunteer and donate books, stuffed animals, pajamas, and cookies by going to www.brokendishes.net/events. Your donation is tax deductible under EPAmade, a program under Levmade, Inc. a 501(c)(3) non profit organization.

Campaign to Support LevMade Inc (EPAMade)

EPAMade is a social enterprise that employs and trains single mothers in order to let hope rise in East Palo Alto, CA.
We are a job readiness program that provides
on-the-job coaching, accountability, positive community, life skills, hope
of redemption, and financial sustainability
 to young mothers who are raising the next generations

It is a social enterprise under LevMade, Inc., a tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit that incubates and launches social
businesses to level the economic playing field in their local community. (EIN: 47-2338082).

Recognizing single mothers are challenged with balancing work and family responsibilities and are in need of education and vocational training, EPAMade provides employment opportunities as well as critical vocational training and life coaching that will lead to permanent, sustainable employment.

EPAMade provides on-the-job vocational training through skills training, weekly teaching sessions, daily assignments and checklist of tasks, 1-on-1 meetings to track individual progress and accountability on both vocational and behavioral skills.

These activities aim to provide women skills in:

Retail store management;

Customer experience management;

Manufacturing in screen printing and sewing;

eCommerce merchandising (photography, copywriting, online merchandising);

eCommerce fulfillment operations (pick/pack/ship, inventory management).

In addition, to instill confidence and to support women in gaining a growth mindset, staff provide life coaching through 1-on-1 meetings on personal needs, quarterly team building retreats and workshops on topics including creating a resume, healthy eating and lifestyle, professional writing, public speaking, and developing a strong work ethic . Through these activities, women will grow in confidence and business acumen.
