Campaign to Support Habitat for Humanity West Hawaii
Habitat for Humanity West Hawaii is a non-profit, faith-based organization seeking to break the cycle of poverty by providing affordable home ownership opportunities to low-income families on Hawaii Island.
Thanks to you, in 2016, Habitat for Humanity West Hawaiiwas able to give 10 families and most importantly 22 children a new and stablefoundation – one where they can grow, thrive, celebrate milestones, and feelsafe in.
One family looking forward to a new beginning is theSamoa Ohana. It was our pleasure to learn that Renee Samoa and her twodaughters and son were approved for a Habitat for Humanity home. Renee Samoalooks forward to the same things that all of our Habitat homeowners do – notjust the security that comes with a safe shelter, but better health and feelingof well-being.
It means her children will have a place to do theirhomework, have their friends over, celebrate birthdays, and create everlastingmemories. Renee will now always have a home that her children will always beable to come back to, and in her own words, a place with “a solid foundation oflove, happiness, and peace.”
Today we begin our Annual Giving Campaign. Our goal is tofundraise for our Blitz Build inSeptember 2017 – ten homes in ten days that will be giving Renee and herfamily as well as 9 other West Hawaii families a new home. Even though Habitatfor Humanity West Hawaii has already provided a fresh start for 27 deservingfamilies, the housing crisis in Hawaii remains.
Hawaii is #1 in the country for rate of homelessness, andis always one of the highest for cost of living, costliest housing market, andrate of poverty. Renee Samoa works a full-time and a part-time job, and stillhomeownership would be a distant dream for her and her family without the helpof Habitat for Humanity West Hawaii.
That’s why our goal for our Year-End Giving Campaign isto raise $150,000 dollars – the cost of a Habitat for Humanity home for adeserving West Hawaiian family.
Will you donate $50, $100, $200 or more to help us meetour goal and change the life of a family in West Hawaii?
As with everything Habitat for Humanity West Hawaii does, none of it would be possible without your help and generosity. With yoursupport, we can give another family a hand-up!
Please make a donation. Families likethe Samoa’s need your help!
Thank you for your continued support of Habitat forHumanity West Hawaii!
