Playgrounds and libraries are extremely important public spaces for children's health and development. Libraries provide access to books that children might not otherwise have and play a crucial role in developing literacy skills. Playgrounds provide an opportunity for children to connect with their peers, be active, and participate in unstructured play. Playgrounds give children an opportunity to be imaginative and to create activities and stories.
This project will support our local partner, Action for the City, to establish a mobile playground and library in poor communes in Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province. We plan to pioneer a new model of playing and reading to children who otherwise have no access to playgrounds or libraries. The mobile playground and library will travel to each village every three months on weekends.
