Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County

About This Campaign

At Habitat for Humanity, we build.
We build because we believe that everyone, everywhere should have a healthy, affordable place to call home.
When a family helps build or improve a place they can call home, they are also building a better community, a better life for themselves.

Your donation will help families in need of a decent place to build long-term financial security.
With an affordable, stable home, families have more to spend on food, medicine, child care, education and other essentials.
Your support can help us do more in all the many ways that Habitat builds.

Your tax-deductible contribution to Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County makes a long-term investment in our community to create simple, decent and affordable homes for low-to-moderate income families in need.

Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit charity, so your gifts are tax-deductible as allowed. We do not sell, rent or otherwise exchange donor lists.

Campaign to Support Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County

Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County and ReStore is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry that works both to eliminate poverty housing around the world and to make adequate housing a matter of conscience and action. Habitat welcomes partners from any faith – or no faith tradition – who are willing to help improve the lives of families needing safe, affordable, decent housing.

Why Donate to Habitat?

Along with food, water, and clothing, shelter is a basic human need. When you donate to Charleston Habitat for Humanity, you become a part of the movement to ensure that no one is without a decent place to live. We are able to provide affordable housing options to low- to moderate- income members of our community because of your contributions.

The impact of your gift extends well beyond the life of the build. In addition to decent, affordable shelter homeownership means:

  • Safety. Many homeowners live in substandard housing located in at-risk neighborhoods. Moving into their newly built Habitat home provides a greater sense of physical safety not only in the home, but in their surroundings as well.
  • Dignity. Home ownership remains a cornerstone of the “American Dream.” Our partner families take pride in their home and in the success of their achievement of a goal that previously seemed beyond their reach.
  • Security. By moving away from renting and becoming homeowners, Habitat participants are able to provide a greater sense of stability for their families.
  • Opportunity. An affordable monthly mortgage payment frees up income that homeowners can spend, invest, or use to further their educations.
