Military/Boomers Sign Up Page - Anawim House

About This Campaign

This volunteer sign up page is for Military/Boomers personnel and family only. You must be between 18 and 75 to volunteer for a Radical Renovation.

Anawim House is a 25-year-old society that is a day house for people living in poverty and trying to find a new way of life. Through their family model, they empower people by working with them not for them, providing every year 13,500 meals, 1,800showers, 1800 loads of laundry, a residential program, and much more.

HeroWork’s job is to lift up this charity by making their home even better through a Radical Renovation. We will be building a nurse’s room for increased health and safety. We will be extending the art therapy space and installing computer stations. We will add a counseling room and build bicycle program space, complete with a workshop. As well, we will help promote a deeper sense of belonging of Anawim’s clients by painting the building, rebuilding the deck, revamping the entire landscape, and more. For all the details visit the Anawim Project page.

The three main weekends of this event are Sept 23-24, Sept 30-Oct 1, and Oct 7-8, with preliminary work starting a week in advance. The address is 973 Caledonia Ave.

HeroWork Program Society

Campaign to Support HeroWork Program Society

HeroWork renews and refreshes charity buildings through exciting events called Radical Renovations. Imagine a modern day barn-raising, where community comes together with massive cooperation and common vision. Money, resources, and people are leveraged to achieve exceptional transformations of charity buildings at a small fraction of traditional costs and time. To date we have completed over 1.9 million dollars worth of renovations for charities, while mobilizing more than 170 companies and 1200 volunteers.

Radical Renovations are an example of what can be done when people work together with common vision and good planning. HeroWork is a registered charity whose longterm vision is to create a community infrastructure renewal movement across Canada and beyond through a social franchise model.
