Bowl for Kids' Sake 2018 - Central New Mexico

Bowl for Kids' Sake 2018 - Central New Mexico

About This Campaign

Bowl for Kids' Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico's largest annual fundraising campaign for kids. The event has been held nationally for 50 years and locally for 35! The money raised through this fundraiser will be used to support quality mentoring matches between caring adult volunteers and youth facing adversity in central New Mexico. Our goal for BFKS 2018 is $102,500 to help more than 1,600 children stay in school, graduate, build confidence, and achieve success in life.

How do I Bowl For Kids' Sake?

Sign up as a team captain or join an existing team today. Form a team of 5, register online and meet your fundraising goal of $125 each ($625 per team) by asking your friends, family, and co-workers to support you. Send a link to your personalized fundraising page and track your progress. Then join us to bowl and celebrate your fundraising efforts! Can’t form a full team? No problem. Register as an individual and we will place you on a team with other bowlers. You can also sign up as an individual and just participate as a fundraiser if you don't want to bowl with us on April 28.

Why Should I Bowl For Kids' Sake?

By bowling you directly and positively impact children in your community. Your support will improve the lives of young people and help them grow into happy, confident, and successful adults!

Campaign to Support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. By partnering with parents/guardians, volunteers and others in the community we are accountable for each child in our program achieving:• Higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships• Avoidance of risky behaviors• Educational success.

Our Programs Start Something.  Here's the proof. National research has shown that positive relationships between Littles and their Bigs have a direct and measurable impact on children’s lives. By participating in our programs, Little Brothers and Sisters are: •more confident in their schoolwork performance•able to get along better with their families•46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs•27% less likely to begin using alcohol•52% less likely to skip school.
