We just added a great new video to give an example of the types of artistic pieces clients of the Mental Heath program would create. Former client of the Mental Health program and current Co-Facilitator of the Recovery Arts Program Marsha Clark demonstrates the creation and Occupational Therapist Nancy Morin guides the creation. Marsha is unable to complete her piece as they require a kiln to fire and finish the Life Bowl. Please consider a donation today!

A testimonial from a social worker who works with this program on the benefits of working with clay and the effect it has on her clients: "To work with clay is to reconnect with earth, water, air, fire, life. Working with clay is tactile and tangible, it is immediate, it is in the now. Every time we handle the clay, we leave our mark – we create the curves of the bowl, every fingerprint we leave tells a story. And when people work with clay, their internal processes are shaped by the external methods. We realize that an unmoulded lump of clay has many possibilities, we learn to trust in our ability to create, we learn to be flexible in the creation rather than insist on achieving a set end product. The lessons from the clay can help us to see that we can stretch, shape, smooth, and sometimes rework ourselves into something different."
