STATEMENT FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, Pam Ealey
March 17, 2020 Good afternoon; I wanted to give you an update from our ministry. We are following the suggested guidelines from our nation’s health officials along with HFHI. Our team members are telecommuting as we have closed our office and our Habitat ReStore through the remainder of March. The ReStore Donation Bay is open 10a-2p. Our Construction sites and repair projects are on hold. Our goal is the same as everyone’s – keep our team, volunteers, and future homebuyers safe and healthy, while at the same time we want to help flatten the curve of the COVID-19 outbreak. I do have some fun news for you. Our ReStore is taking it’s popular SILENT AUCTION to an on-line auction. This will be live and ready by Wednesday. We will post on social media plus we will have a button on the front page of our website too (www.uchabitat.org). We hope you enjoy this month’s auction! For our Overton County supporters, we have postponed our New Beginnings Lunch to September. We will send out the final date later this spring. For Putnam County partners, we are looking at different options for our Dream Builders Luncheon at the end of April. We have much to celebrate during our 25th Anniversary as well as exciting plans to share with you. We will keep you posted on these plans along the way. We will re-evaluate our plans for office, ReStore, and Construction at the end of this month. We have homes that we’re anxious to continue building as well as Seniors’ who have homes that need repair and accessibility adjustments. In addition, we’ve just started working on plans for Tornado recovery and rebuilding. There’s much work to do for so many, so join us in prayer that this crisis will be on the downhill side of the curve as quickly as possible. Of course we continue to pray for our community recovering from the tornado and protecting each of us from COVID-19. I pray God continues to bless you and protect you;
