Mission Springs: A Dream Come True for Families Impacted by Hardships

This month, we reflect on our progress to help build up hard-working families in our community. With the invaluable support of Commonwealth Companies, we proudly completed a 95-unit housing development in Evans, Colorado. This project was a top priority as it aimed to replace half of the 200 homes lost in Evans, Colorado, during the 2013 floods. The development played a pivotal role in achieving safe and stable homes for hard-working families in our community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our sponsors, including the City of Evans, Habitat for Humanity of Colorado, the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, home sponsors, donors, volunteers, and partners, who contributed to making this development a reality and a resounding success story in Weld County. Your hard work, time, and dedication are truly memorable and have positively impacted the lives of 27 Habitat families. We are excited to move to our newest development, Hope Springs, a 174-home development!

Honoring the life of Nancy Van Anne

Nancy Marie Van Anne, a woman of unwavering determination and boundless compassion, passed away on August 26, 2024. We honor her for her philanthropic work and the positive impact she made on the lives of those around her.

While attending the Graduate Theological Union at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1986-1987, Nancy deepened her knowledge of philosophy and theology and learned about Habitat for Humanity. Inspired by this experience, she returned home determined to establish a chapter in Greeley. In 1987, she and other dedicated residents founded the Greeley Area Habitat for Humanity chapter. Nancy’s influence has touched every family served by the organization since its inception, improving countless lives. She continued to mentor the Greeley Area Habitat staff for decades, even until the end of her life. Her incredible spirit will live on in the work of the chapter and the families it serves for generations to come.

Meet the Homeowners you are helping at Hope Springs!
Meet the Beltran Family!

Augustina and Miguel Beltran reside in a 55+ mobile home community with their 4-year-old daughter, Mikaela, whom they adopted from a relative as an infant.

The couple is dedicated to providing the best possible life for their daughter, but due to community restrictions, Mikaela has limited outdoor time and must be cautious. Tina and Miguel are on social security, and Miguel now works a few hours per week for his son's construction company to support the family of three.

Having a home in our newest development, Hope Springs will allow Mikaela to enjoy a neighborhood full of children with whom to play at some of the best parks in our community! Alongside having space to play, the family will enjoy the financial stability and affordability a Habitat home can provide.

September Habitat Happenings
Join us for our Interfaith Breakfast September 26th!

The Interfaith Breakfast allows us to unite as a faith community and explore how Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity can best support us. Unlike the Building Impact Breakfast, this event is not a fundraising gathering but an informal discussion forum.

We are genuinely interested in hearing from you about the needs in your community and how we can work together. Our CEO, Cheri Witt-Brown, will be available for a Q&A session to address any questions or concerns you may have.

During the breakfast, we will explore ways our collaboration can benefit your community, including affordable homeownership options, community service opportunities, and how Habitat families can contribute through sweat equity at your place of worship.

RSVP to Laura Jones, Volunteer Coordinator, Laura@greeleyhabitat.org
