In 2022, Habitat KC ambitiously expanded their Build Days, especially for the two-week Women Build initiative, facing the challenge of managing a significant increase in volunteers and data. Recognizing the need for efficiency, Habitat KC utilized Giveffect’s streamlined solutions to enhance volunteer sign-up coordination and communication. Their goal was to improve fulfillment rates on construction sites for each build day, ensuring a smoother and more effective volunteer experience.

The Solutions

Efficiently Managing Women Build Volunteer Campaigns

Habitat KC utilized Giveffect’s online fundraising campaigns to manage their two-week Women Build initiative and all other sponsored Build days throughout the year. With Giveffect, one single campaign page links Team Build opportunities and volunteer shifts. The Habitat for Humanity Kansas City campaign pages also provide useful information for being a volunteer on their construction sites.

Streamlining Women Build Online Volunteer Reservations

Habitat KC leverages Giveffect’s reservation setting to simplify the management of Team-Build days. The reservation tool creates private shifts linked to a specific reservation for each unique organization. These links are then sent to the group’s main point of contact, who can track and monitor the fulfillment of their volunteers. This saves the community impact manager’s time, eliminates the need for multiple email follow-ups, and eliminates volunteer sign-up miscommunications.

Enhancing Communication Through SMS Texting and Emails

Habitat for Humanity Kansas City strategically leverages Giveffect’s SMS texting and email features to boost communication efficiency during their women build. The SMS texting feature is invaluable for prompt updates, especially on event days, enabling the relay of critical information like adverse weather conditions or changes in construction schedules. Meanwhile, the email feature supports targeted communication within specific groups, saving time for Habitat KC and ensuring volunteers receive timely and relevant updates.

Fostering a Positive Volunteer Experience Through Web Forms, Waivers, and Surveys

Habitat KC is now completely paperless with Giveffect. Volunteers use smartphones, tablets, or laptops to complete volunteer applications and waivers. As part of the volunteer application process, form questions gather information such as dietary restrictions and t-shirt sizes. Waivers and question responses are automatically stored in each volunteer profile in Giveffect’s CRM database. To create a positive volunteer experience, Habitat KC sends thank-you notes and utilizes the web form feature to send surveys to their volunteers the next day. This creates the opportunity for regular feedback and improvement as well as to show appreciation for their service.

Build Day Results

Since adopting Giveffect’s all-in-one nonprofit software, Habitat for Humanity Kansas City has streamlined the organization of sponsored Build Days, efficiently signed up volunteers, and enhanced communication. This approach has significantly improved the volunteer experience for board members, coordinators, and volunteers. In 2022, Habitat for Humanity Kansas City hosted 123 Sponsored Build Days and sold out their two-week Women Build initiative, successfully managing 386 volunteers during this period.

Ready to learn how Giveffect can transform your nonprofit’s operations and volunteer management just like it did for Habitat for Humanity Kansas City? Schedule Your Demo Today!

The Challenge Since becoming a Giveffect client in 2020, Habitat for Humanity Kansas City (Habitat KC) has seamlessly integrated the platform’s features…

[118
167,493,220
0":"post-5563","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-case-study","8":"tag-habitat-for-humanity","9":"tag-marketing-communications-strategies","10":"tag-volunteer-management

Habitat for Humanity KC: Sold-Out Women Build With Giveffect

Habitat for Humanity KC: Sold-Out Women Build With Giveffect
Learn how Habitat for Humanity Kansas City managed over 123 builds and sold out 2 weeks of their Women Build with Giveffect.
https://wordpress.giveffect.com/habitat-for-humanity-kc-123-build-days-and-sold-out-women-builds-with-giveffect/
@context":"https://schema.org","@graph":[{"@type":"BreadcrumbList","@id":"https://wordpress.giveffect.com/habitat-for-humanity-kc-123-build-days-and-sold-out-women-builds-with-giveffect/#breadcrumb
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
["GET
