A Message From Mason Shults
I go to school at The Little Light House…did you know that? I bet you did. My parents like to tell everyone about my school, but now it’s my turn to tell you all the great things about The Little Light House. Did you know that it is a school for kids with special needs, just like me? We have special teachers and therapists that help us learn what we need to know. The grown-ups say it’s important for us to start learning early. My first year at LLH has been an amazing year. I can now spell my name, count to 10+ and have improved so much in my motor and communication skills. I have also made lots of new friends and love going to school every day. I wish everyone could go to a school like mine.
It costs a lot of money to get all the things we need at our school. Some schools make the moms and dads pay for school…but not mine! I get to go there for free! My school doesn’t get any money from the government or United Way. All the money we get comes from individual and corporate donors. Some grown-ups think it’s so amazing that all the money comes from private donations. I think they are right.
I’m too little to have a job to give money, but I can still help my school! At Mini-Laps, I get to go around the track at my school one time. My friends will be there, too. Some of us will run or walk, some will ride bikes or scooters. Some of my friends get to ride in their wheelchairs or in a wagon. It is so much fun and this year our theme is Made in Oklahoma. I hope you can come and watch me on October 13!
It costs $32,000 each year for services for one student at the Little Light House. My parents tell me that is a lot of money so I am looking for sponsors for when I make my lap, so I can help my school. If you would like to donate, you can do that here on my page! Because my school is a 501(c)(3) organization, your contribution is tax deductible…whatever that means!
Thank you very much for supporting my school!

Christopher Ellison gave a $527.15 donation to support Mason ShultsWe are so proud of you Mason for working so hard at your new school! Spelling and numbers are so important and great work learning to count past 10 and learning your letters so you can spell your name! Keep trying your hardest to learn the letter sounds so you can read when you get older. I think reading is the most important skill a person can learn! Have a great summer!
