A Message From Londyn Brame
My name is Londyn! I am getting ready to start my second year at The Little Light House...did you know that? I bet you did. My mom likes to tell everyone about my school, but now it's my turn to tell you all the great things about The Little Light House. Did you know that it is a school for kids with special needs, just like me? The grown-ups say it's real important for us to start learning early. There's even a list of kids waiting to come to my school...that's how great it is. We have special teachers and therapist that help us learn what we need to know. Some of us need special equipment to help us learn and we love all the toys made especially for kids like us. That is one of the things that makes our school so unique! They understand that we are all individuals and may need different things to learn. Everyone is so nice and we have lots of fun together.
I wish everyone could go to a school like mine. My first year was amazing and I have learned so many new skills! I love coming home each day and showing my mommy the new things I can do, it usually makes her cry, but she says they are happy tears! My mom says I'm not the same shy timid girl she sent to school less than a year ago (That makes me laugh). I'm so blessed to get another year at The Little Light House! I'm ready to see what I can do!
It cost a lot of money to get all the things we need at our school.
The estimated tuition for a year at the Little Light House cost $32,000, it would not be possible for me to attend a school like this without the amazing donations of so many people who make this miracle come true. My school does not get any money from the government or United Way. All of the money we get comes from individual and corporate donors. Some grown-ups think it's
so amazing that all of the money comes from private donations. I think they are right.
I'm too little to have a job to give money, but I can still help my school! My school has a "Mini-Laps" race that I can do! I get to go around the track at my school one time. My friends will be there, too. Some of us will walk, some will ride bikes or scooters. Some of my friends get to ride in their wheelchairs or in a wagon. It is so much fun, I hope you can come watch me on October 12!
I need people to sponsor me when I make my lap, so I can help my school. If you would like to make a donation, you can give a check to my mom (made out to TLLH) before Tuesday, October 10th. You can also send it in the mail to the Little Light House at 5120 E 36th St, Tulsa, OK 74135 or make a donation her on my webpage! Make sure you tell them my name so they will know that you are sponsoring me. Because my school is a 501(C)(3) organization, your contribution is tax deductible... whatever that means!
Thank you for helping me and my school!
