Linnea Street

A Message From Linnea Street

I will be running in memory of my late brother, Thor Peterson. Thor was a combat veteran who served his country in the Army’s 10th Mountain Division. He was deployed during Operation Enduring Freedom to Afghanistan (2002) and Djibouti, Africa (2003). In likeness to the the Norse god he was named after Thor was strong, courageous, and fierce. Unfortunately, that strength was not enough to overcome the burden which he silently carried. After struggling with PTSD for years my brother ended his life on March 8, 2015. Thor was loved and adored by his family, friends, and his brothers of Charlie Company, 4-31, 10th Mtn Div. I hope to spread enough awareness about Veteran suicide so that our returning men & women can receive the support they need to prevent this devastating statistic. On March 8 there were 21 other families that experienced the same heartbreak my parents & I did. July 4 will mark 117 days since my brother’s passing. That means there have been 2,574 Veteran suicides since March 8! THIS MUST END! Please help me erase this number by supporting me during the #22in22Challenge.

Delaware 4th of July 22in22 to Stop Soldier Suicide

About This Campaign

We began on July 4, 2015 as a small movement to raise money and awareness to Stop Soldier Suicide. With your help, the 22in22 movement has grown across the country and volunteers are organizing and contributing from around the world. Participants included Army and Marine Generals, movie stars, veterans, family of fallen heroes, and patriots like you. Between the contributions on this website and direct donations, we raised $20,000. Thank you for your support. Together we can change the world. Jacob DiSabatino Delaware, USA
