A Message From Kaitlin Kukuruda

This campaign means a lot to me being that I was born and raised a military "brat." I have always been wanting to do more things to help out our wounded heroes and to create awareness of the invisible wounds our heroes may suffer from. I have seen firsthand the effects of PTSD and TBIs and have been blessed to go to lectures and classes about them. Please help me raise money to help fund this great non-profit created to help our heroes get the help they need. This challenge will also hopefully get me back on track to my healthy lifestyle by creating a walking habit everyday. It takes 21 days to form a habit. :)

Thank you so much for sponsoring me or spreading the word about this campaign!! <3

I am doing this in memory of all the men, women, and service animals that lost their lives while serving our country!

About This Campaign

It started in Delaware. Now they are challenging YOU to start your own 22 miles in 22 days state challenge. Sign up as your state and get others to follow suit. Day 6- I needed to get my mile in early today because later is my Mary Kay party. I decided to take the hilly route today. While on my walk my friend texted me to say she just signed up for the ‪#‎22in22challenge‬ and already did her first mile. smile emoticon This makes me so happy. If you can't donate you can always join in on the challenge or do both. I just completed my 6th mile and still $50 away from meeting my $150 goal.

Day 5 - So I wanted to experiment. I decided to see how much I could walk on a quick shopping trip at Walmart. Well it didn't go so great because the building made it harder for the GPS to find me. It would quit working every so often and I would stop and mess with it. The time would keep going just not the distance. I did make sure I took the longer routes to the items I needed to buy. So when I finally walked to my car I was at 0.71 of a mile so I walked the cart all the way to the store to put it back and then I walked to Sincerely Yogurt to see what flavors they had and back to my car just to make it a mile. If the GPS didn't struggle I am sure I would be almost near 1.5 miles if not more.

Also I did walk a mile yesterday. I updated on my facebook but not on here.

I was smart today and took my walk in the morning before it got soooo hot. I got stopped today and asked why I have been walking the past few days. I was so glad I got to spread the word about why I am doing this challenge. smile emoticon 3 out of 22 miles/days down! I am still at $100 out of my $150 donation goal.

Day 1 - 1 mile down in this 95 degree heat. It's a very small price to pay to raise awareness of veteran/active duty suicide. So happy I reached my goal to raise $100 today!! Thank you to all who donated and if you couldn't donated you shared my post on Facebook! Let's try to raise some more money for this great nonprofit organization that was created to help veteran and active military members deal with PTSD and TBIs and get the help and support they need to know they are not alone and that taking their own lives is not the answer.

I am planning on starting Monday July 27th, but I am pretty excited so I may start logging some miles ASAP. I would love to do more than 22 miles.
