A Message From Danielle Bostian
Hi new and old friends! As many of you may know I have been a big sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County for a girl named Monika for almost 6 years. I have watched her transform from a shy girl who couldn’t even look up to make eye contact to an honor roll high school student with tons of friends. My involvement in Big Brothers Big Sisters has changed my life forever. I was very proud to be Big Sister of the year in 2013 and I have joined the Board of Directors and Fund Development Committee last year to be able to make a greater impact. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters, makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people. The Big Brothers Big Sisters Vision is that all children achieve success in life. The Big Brothers Big Sisters Mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
Our biggest fundraiser is our annual luxury car raffle. I am asking you to take a chance to win your choice of a BMW, Lexus or Mercedes-Benz while giving a local child a chance for a better life. Thank you.
About This Event
Congratulations to East Brunswick psychologist Anna Marie Resnikoff, the winner of our 2015 luxury car raffle. Anna met one of our board members at a conference in 2010 and learned from him about the work we do with children in Mercer County. She has been a loyal player of our cash and car raffles ever since and won on ticket number 711, which is her birthday. A total of 1,117 tickets were sold. Thanks to everyone who played and helped us continue our mission. Thanks to you and others like you, this year we have created 67 new one to one mentoring matches for local children facing hardship. We couldn’t exist without your help and support.
