A Message From Sue Kent

Dear Family and Friends,
It is the time of year again when I am challenged to help raise funds through our BBBS yearly fundraiser, Bowl for Kids' Sake. Youth in our program receive valuable one-to-one mentorship that is professionally supported through my job and others in the office like me. We love what we do because we can see that the kids are doing better academically and socially because they have a person who gives them their total attention for an hour a week. Doesn't sound like much, I know, but you would be amazed at the smiles that light up Littles' faces when their Bigs arrive to the classroom with a genuine desire to help. It costs ~$900 to support a match yearly, and on my caseload alone there are 59 Littles. Fortunately the state of New Mexico believes there's value to our task, and they help our program out, but with the decrease in state funds, the burden is heavier on us this year, as is our benchmark for raising $50K. Any amount sent in to help help my fundraising efforts for Bowl For Kids' Sake is much appreciated!

I strongly support the good work of BBBS and all the fine, caring people who work in the Alamogordo, N.M. office. Keep up the great work!
