A Message From Heather McDonald

Asa Jones, our good friends' beloved three-year old, is among the less than one percent of kids in the United States who are blind. Since 1900, Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind has been dedicated to helping people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired in the greater D.C. area to remain independent, active, and productive. This annual 5K at Nationals Park is a great way to celebrate Asa, enjoy time with friends and family, and contribute to the work of supporting the independence of people in the D.C. area who are blind.

About This Event

Light the Way 5k is a family friendly fun walk/run fundraising event held at Nationals Park to benefit Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind. Walk or run the same scenic, accessible route through the ballpark and along the riverfront. The Kids Fun Run will take place on the warning track at 8:30 a.m. and feature a Nationals mascot! Enjoy live music, food, a silent auction, and giveaways. We are at capacity for volunteers so we thank everyone for the generous donation of their time and effort to the cause.
