A Message From Tamara Kotorlis
Hi everyone! I use to be a camper at Camp Winston, and every summer i looked forward for those 2 weeks of the year that i could just be myself! People at home didn`t understand me and found me strange, but coming to camp I realized that it was ok to be myself as long as I had a safe place. Camp Winston is my home and it has become home for a lot of others due to the fact that the kids who come to camp can make friends for the first time in their lives! My best friend of 12 years I met at camp, and we have been friends to this day! Camp is that place where noone judges, where if a kid throws something or gets mad they are given chances, chances which other camps would not give. Kids come here to Camp Winston with challenging neorological disabilities, and are taught things that to others may be simple but to them can be life changing. Simply just learning to ride a bike is a common camp goal all due to the fact that Camp Winston is here to help those that others would give up on. Coming from a camper that is now a staff, I sure know that Camp Winston IS my SAVIOUR!!!!!!
