A Message From Jolynn Rider

The scorching hot sun beat down on my back as I shuffled my feet across the dry, cracked, and barren ground. Where there should have been blossoming fields of alfalfa, wheat, and sorghum, there were not. Instead, the ground was too dry to plant alfalfa, the wheat failed, and the tips of the sorghum were burned by the brutal sun. All of this crop failure had one common denominator - lack of water. My footprints trailed behind me through this dusty shriveled up place and the wind quickly erased my path. This place ,was my families farm. With the drought that has plagued us over the past couple years, crops failed and people gave up hope.

I thought I knew what it was to have no water. Little did I know, Wine to Water would show me what it really meant to have absolutely no water at all and change my life.

As some of you may know, I am a part of the West Texas(WT) Wine to Water Chapter and leadership team. Bringing clean drinking water to those in poverty stricken countries and showing them God's love, compassion, and grace has became a passion of mine. This is where I feel God is currently calling me to go and where I want to invest my time, energy, and heart.

In Honduras we will be working as a team to repair old broken down wells or digging new ones to provide the people there with clean drinking water. Sanitation is another major issue in this area and we will be providing sanitation lessons and kits.

God has been bringing us out of this drought and I was recently tossing pebbles into a mud puddle thanking God for this rain. As I was doing this I realized something. When that little pebble hit the water a circle of ripples would flow out from around it, one after another. That small pebble in a big puddle represents you and I. Once one person makes a change or a difference, it flows out in every direction, rippling person to person. It does not just stop with that one "pebble," but instead it spreads out over the entire "puddle". It only takes ONE to start a ripple effect.

I ask that you support me by financially investing in order for me to make this journey a reality. My hope is to bring the people of Honduras out of a spiritual drought, help provide clean drinking water, and make an impact in the lives of those around me. If you feel it in your heart, to do so, you can donate to my trip through this page and assist in furthering the ripple of blessings.

Most importantly I ask for prayers of safe travels, the softening of the heart's of those we will reach, God's will to be done, and the preparation of my heart leading up to this adventure! Thank you all for your love and support and I pray that you will be blessed as you have blessed me!

Much Love,

Jolynn Rider

Z (OLD) Volunteer Service Trip | Honduras

About This Campaign

The Mosquito Coast is one of the most remote places on earth and is located on the northern coast of Honduras. La Mosquitia, Honduras, is one of our more rustic and adventurous location for volunteers to join our efforts to provide clean water. This could include: digging a well, repairing broken wells, teaching hygiene lessons, construction projects, etc. It's a great way to dive straight into the culture as you sleep in a hammock each night and learn first hand about the water projects and the reality of the water crisis.Dates for Individual Travelers:
