We are asking for your support to empower the children in our community. UCLA UniCamp is the official charity of the students of UCLA.  Each year, UCLA UniCamp inspires 1,200 children from low-income families to envision brighter futures by connecting them with 500 UCLA student volunteers at our outdoor summer camp located in the San Bernardino National Forest. Through creative, well-rounded, and proven programs, UCLA UniCamp delivers challenging new experiences that foster personal growth and develop leadership skills. The children and our UCLA student volunteers are challenged to reach their full potential and make a positive impact in our community.

SAIL or Sailing Adventures Inspiring Leaders is a week long camp within Unicamp that offers campers the opportunity to sail out on Big Bear Lake. We use sailing as a tool to both spark interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education and to build confidence and self-esteem on and off the water for our campers. The majority of the population we serve has never had the opportunity to sail at all, so we also increase the exposure of sailing to the general population.

We have five weeks of SAIL this coming summer. Our counselors are either current UCLA students, alumni, or members of the sailing team. We aim to have 6-10 high school students per week of camp with 3-4 counselors. We keep our ratio low in order to provide individualized activities for our campers.

Offering a SAIL camp to our campers has proven to be expensive and challenging. Each counselor and camper roughly costs about $600 for the week which includes food, lodging, and transportation. As of now, our fundraising goal is $30,000 to cover all the costs of our program. Our SAIL counselors have all been busy with their own fundraising efforts, but we are reaching out to you for further help. We appreciate your consideration and hope that we can begin to establish and foster a relationship with your organization. Thank you for your time and please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

13th Annual UCLA UniCamp Camp-A-Thon

About This Campaign

In the midst of our UCLA UniCamp Student Volunteer's nearly 100 hours of training, they somehow manage to find a day to meet on campus and continue training and bonding with fellow UCLA UniCamp Student Volunteers. Please join us in sponsoring these students.

All proceeds from this event go towards sending under-served youth to camp this summer. The student’s goal this year is to raise $290,000. This will help UCLA UniCamp give over 1,300 campers a summer camping experience.

Join us in this great cause. UCLA UniCamp is a tradition at UCLA that is entering its 80th summer of camp. Every year there are hundreds of under-served children that may not be dreaming of a bright future. Help us provide these kids with the tools to change their stars and give them the chance to dream big and succeed. Thank you in advance for your interest and your contribution.
