Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity's work. Trustees Week is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference. Trustees Week 2012 is 5 - 11 November and this website will be regularly updated with news and information in the Bowl up to the week.
For you to receive a tax credit for your donation, a charity must be registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and have been issued a charitable number. Each year the charity makes a filing with the agency, which is publicly posted on the CRA website. Provincial Attorneys General also have authorities to regulate the activities of charities in the marketplace.
If the charity does not appear in the CRA database, it's possible that it uses a different operating name or acronym in its day-to-day operations, or its application for charitable status is still pending.
An anonymous donation of $50 has been made to support Kelly LegoodMany thanks to all who attended the fundraising extravaganza.
