Be a FUNdraiser! Be a Donor! Be a Bowler! Now's your chance to be a part of the fun and make an impact for children in Albuquerque and the surrounding area.
Each year Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico raises money to provide nurturing, mentoring relationships for children in our community. We will be hosting our 33rd Annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake event at the Isleta Fun Connection on April 9th, 2016. Every year, we have nearly 600 bowlers join in on the fun but this year we’re going “Back to the 80’s!” Put on your Member’s Only Jacket, neon leggings, big hair and bright colors, and like, let’s start raising some totally awesome money for a totally awesome cause.

Why Should I Bowl For Kids’ Sake?
By bowling you directly and positively impact children ...
We do this by building and Bowlning 415 Nurseries and Schools which provide 132,422 children with a quality education. These are open to children in our care and to those from the wider community. We also Bowl 103 SOS Vocational and Staff Training Centres which provide new skills and practical training to 26,254 young people and adults, giving them a route to long-term success.
For those making larger donations, giving gifts of equities is becoming a popular option. Recent changes in the federal Income Tax Act mean you can now donate stocks, bonds or mutual funds to charities and pay no capital gains tax on the increase in value since your acquired it. The donor also receives a charitable tax receipt for the full market value of the gift at the time of donation.
In times of conflict, famine or disaster, we are quick to provide emergency assistance. SOS Children played a pivotal role in helping Pakistan earthquake victims (SOS Children was named as the official custodian of all unaccompanied children by Kashmir authorities) and continues its work in ongoing conflict zones in countries such as Zimbabwe, the DR of Congo and Somalia.
