Ronald McDonald House Greater Hudson Valley: $400k Raised in a Single Year with Giveffect

2 Mins read

The Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley is committed to keeping families with sick or injured children close to each other and to the care and resources they need. They achieve their mission through the quality, experience, and dedication of staff and volunteers, as well as support from their community and local businesses.

Challenge

Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley (RMHGHV) faced significant challenges with resource allocation processing. Due to fragmented software systems, team members struggled to gather accurate information for room allocation processing. When team members ran reports, vital data such as occupancy and waitlists were frequently excluded, making it difficult to manage guests appropriately. Additionally, RMHGHV struggled with tracking their online donations as they used multiple systems to create event and fundraising pages.

Solutions

By transitioning to Giveffect’s all-in-one nonprofit technology, RMHGHV has not only streamlined room processing and resource allocation to better serve the needs of families but also increased overall donation amounts and exceeded their fundraising goals.

Streamlining Room Processing & Resource Allocations

RMHGHV utilized Giveffect’s nonprofit management features to enhance their guest management processes. The “Resources” tab within Giveffect offers a comprehensive and real-time overview of room occupancy, waitlists, and family needs at the Ronald McDonald House. The streamlined process now minimizes manual entry duplication and ensures a more effective tracking system for volunteers and families within the house.

Increasing Donations Through Campaign Creation

RMHGHV leveraged Giveffect’s customizable ‘Campaigns’ tool to enhance engagement and facilitate seamless contributions from donors, sponsors, and volunteers alike. RMHGHV created campaigns for events like their Annual Golf Outing and the Annual Dylan J. Hoffman Walk & Family Fun Day. With this tool, RMHGHV supporters could easily purchase tickets for the event, make donations, or volunteer through the same campaign webpage. Additionally, supporters were able to easily share these pages with their friends and family members. This streamlined approach resulted in a significant increase in RMHGHV’s overall donation amounts within a single year.

Results

By switching to Giveffect and using online fundraising campaigns and donation processing tools, the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley raised $423,070 in 2022 and over $13 million in revenue since adopting Giveffect in 2017. With the power of an automated system and a streamlined process of allocating resources, RMHGHV is now further supporting families and expanding RMH’s reach throughout the Hudson Valley region.
